Everyone’s favourite junkie, William S. Burroughs.

Dune
This design was voted for by my followers on Instagram.
With the release of the new Denis Villeneuve films, the books are more popular than ever, so I wanted to tap into that market.

St. Francis of Assisi
This design was a follower request!
Front and back
Fyodor Dostoevsky
I drew one of my favourite authors and decided it’d work well as a bookmark.

Charles Bukowski
Another case of drawing one of my favourite authors and deciding it’d work well as a bookmark.
Smeagol
Taken from a scene in the film. One for the fans.

Kurt Vonnegut
I wanted to create a bookmark that would complement the weird, colourful book covers that seem to appear on many of Vonnegut’s books: namely the Vintage (Penguin) ones, and to a lesser extend the Bantam ones.
I think the style suits his whimsy.
Front

Moby-Dick
A design that I hope captures the drama of the novel.
Front
Back
Edgar Allan Poe
I of course went for something gothic and included ravens because I’m just so original.

The King in Yellow
I’m a fan of cosmic horrors personally, and although Robert W. Chambers is not nearly my favourite author in the world, I do love the imagery surrounding his work “The King in Yellow”.
The “Yellow Sign” is on the back, too.
Front
Back
The Bard
I drew this one after watching the latest Dungeons & Dragons film and it took my back to my rollplaying-oriented childhood.
No one buys this bookmark, but I’m very happy I got to draw it.
A follower on Instagram named this character Sebastian Cantante.

H. P. Lovecraft
Back to cosmic horror! This is one of the first designs I made for A Couple of Dorks and it has been a best seller consistently.
There must be a larger cult of Lovecraft fans than I originally thought.

Detective Noir
A rough ‘n ready detective, equipped with everyone’s favourite detectivey trench coat and fedora.
Front

Pulp Western
From time to time I like to read about the yee-haw old west by picking up a Zane Grey.
I know they’re terrible, but sometimes I just get a hankerin’.
This bookmark was to complement that hankerin’.
Front and back
Cyberpunk
This was voted for by my followers on Instagram and was inspired by the work of Philip K. Dick and William Gibson.
Front and back
Havisham
I MAY have gone a little too horror on this one.
It’s Havisham’s wedding table covered in cobweblike sheets.
No one buys this, but I had a blast painting it.
Front and back
The Lighthouse
I drew this after reading Jeff VanderMeer’s Southern Reach trilogy (Annihilation).
I fell in love with his creepy lighthouse and decided to draw my own.
This one’s rather popular.

Pulp Sci-Fi
I have always been drawn to retro science fiction art. This was the first in a series of pulp sci-fi themed bookmarks and was voted for by my followers on Instagram.
Front and back
Left Behind
The second in my series of pulpy sci-fi bookmark designs. Can also be labelled as “Raygun gothic.”
Front

Red Rocket
The third pulp sci-fi bookmark design, and probably the most popular.
Front and back
Blue Lobster
The attack of the Giant Blue Lobster!
Look out!
The fourth pulp sci-fi design. Another “Raygun gothic.”

Brain Monsters!?
They came from outer space!
Yeah, I was enjoying drawing Raygun gothics for a while.
The fifth pulp sci-fi bookmark.
Front and back
Alien Invasion!
Okay, it’s basically Mars Attacks, but so what? This was super fun to draw.
The sixth pulp sci-fi bookmark.
Front

Atomic Diner
The Fallout TV series had just been announced and well… I felt inspired.
The seventh and final pulp sci-fi bookmark (for now).

Southern Gothic
Cormac McCarthy is one of my all-time favourite authors. I tried to capture something of the atmosphere in Cormac’s work with this one. The rearside is a quote from his book “Outer Dark”; there is an alternative version as well which has a quote from “Blood Meridian”.
Front
Back
Frankenstein
I was inspired by Bernie Wrightson’s artwork for Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (graphic novel version), and decided to try a similar style for this. I loved the book in both regular, unabridged novel format (1818), and also graphic novel format.
Front

Electric Dreams
Inspired by Philip K. Dick’s work.
Front

Ubik
Inspired by Philip K. Dick’s book “Ubik”, one of his best novels.

It’s a floaty astronaut!
Lots of references to science fiction in this one.

A gothic portrait of the original goth queen: Mary Shelley.

A portrait of my sci-fi hero Philip K. Dick.
I consider myself a massive Dickhead.
